Affiliate payment
Different sites may choose different ways to pay their affiliates:
- Check - It is the most common way. To make life simple, they are often in US dollars.
If you are from the U.S. then it's easy. If you are not from the U.S.,
however, you may have to do some "bank shopping" to find out which bank charges least for depositing overseas checks.
It makes a big difference when you have to deposit several tens of checks a
month and the bank charges you per check. Citibank here probably charges
the lowest because they charge a percentage regardless of how many checks you
deposit.
You may want to set the minimum payout amount or set the frequency of payment
if bank charges make a big cut to your profit.
The only downside with check is that, a few companies may still reveal the
nature of your fund on the checks (Lingeriexxx or Sexyxxxx) causing unnecessary
embarrassment and trouble. Though many companies are subtle enough to
issue checks from company names like xxx investments or ABC, inc.
- Paypal is another option. Some companies offer Paypal as an
alternative to checks. It saves their time on printing checks, all
sorts of processing and posting.
With Paypal, you link your
credit card and/or your bank account to the Paypal account. I start to
pay for my online shopping or recurring web hosting with Paypal such that when there is not enough fund in
my Paypal account, it will charge my credit card, especially when you are
nervous about revealing your credit card number online.
When your commission
income arrives, you may transfer the money to your bank account or simply use
it to pay for any online bills.
Bad news is that recently Paypal has decided not to accept payment
from adult transactions. Everybody is now hunting for new substitutions.
- Wire Transfer
Wire Transfer is not my favorite. Some companies charges me $35 just to
set up an account. Then it's around $30 to $35 per fund transfer from
their side. Your local bank makes a cut too so it ends up costing
a lot to get this money. If I have a choice I won't be choosing this
consider other payment method like Paypal or ePassporte allows you to have
instant access to your money too.
- ePassporte and StormPay
ePassport and StormPay are probably the 2 biggest rivals in the online
fund handling industry nowadays especially for adult industry.
There's a stir when big brother Paypal announced that they are not accepting
adult transactions. Many companies have to turn to these 2 companies
when check issuing is too tedious for them.
